i recently took in a stray pregnant dog, she is having pups right now, i have already called my vet and he should be calling me back any moment. but she cut the cord too short on one of the pups and it wont stop bleeding, what can i do quickly to save it, i dont have time for rude comments just need some help while waiting for my vet.
the bleeding has slowed down, ive been putting pressure on it with a towel, but now she pushed one out, it is breathing, but the cord is stuck in her still, has been for about 15 minutes. my damn vet still isnt here, there are 11 puppies and im trying to help them all. can i gently pull the pups cord out of the momma?
ok so the pup has stopped bleeding, and the other one is out and they are all fine so far. my vet is still not here.....but thank you all very much for your answers and advice. and yes...she has an appointment already to be spayed..i dont agree with dog breeding, but if a dog is in need. i will damn sure help it.i dont plan to keep all of them, but some of them. i do live on a farm with 35 acres. and they will all be well taken care of. thanks to all! :)
